Sunday, 29th September 2019 would go down as a day of class, beauty and elegance inside the One Airport Square Accra as a ceremony inside the building launched and unveiled the maidens of this year’s edition of Face of Faith Pageant Africa to the press and public.

This is the third edition of the Christian pageant and after sieving several entrants, a final thirteen have been selected to compete in this year’s edition of the pageant.

The launch, which was strictly by invite, was nothing short of awesome as each maiden appeared elegantly and described a unique female bible character they would be representing. The names of the maidens for this year’s edition are as follows;

Joana Mills-Aidoo, age 19, Theresa Quartey, age 22, Chisom Obiwuru, age 23, Philippine Tengey, age 25, Esther Quartey, age 19, Peace Sylvia Akwa, age 20, Grace ‘Adom’ Abunyewah Danquah, age 20, Bridget Ekuba Bentum, age 26, Florissita Larbey, age 19, Benedicta Dorkutcho, age 19, Wendy Opoku, age 24, Selina Kwofie, age 19 and Cyvolin Achi, 24 years of age.

International as it has always been, there were contestants spanning from Nigeria, Cameroon and Ghana.

Teddy Owusu-Twum, founder of the pageant, addressing the crowd stressed on the fact that every maiden is a Face of Faith and that they needed to run with the vision whether they won the crown or not.

A touching message of encouragement by the reigning queen followed the unveiling of the maidens. The crowd present at the launch, owing to the amazing support of family and friends who graced the occasion, very well received the maidens. Some contestants of previous editions were also there to support the newly selected maidens who would be competing in this year’s edition

The Face of Faith Pageant Africa abbreviated as FOFPA, is a pageant that seeks to eradicate girl child prostitution and promote girl child education in our part of the world. The premiere edition had four African countries namely, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia and Ghana participating. The second edition also saw Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Gabon and Congo Brazaville as participants.

The formidable line of judges for this year’s edition will include Prince Mackay, owner of Radio and TV Presenters Awards and Africa Gospel Awards Festival, award winning media mogul Amandah Jissih, award winning Gospel artiste and fashion influencer Seth Diamond and Anita Addai, former queen, Miss Ghana finalist and entrepreneur. Also, Zandie Mbawu, Director of Operations of Black Magic Holdings, South Africa would be on the judges panel for the finals.

A cross section of the media was there to cover the event. The pageant would last seven weeks. Prizes in store for the winner of this year’s edition include an all expenses paid trip, one year free clothing and accessory package, cash prizes and many other exciting prizes.

Popularly tagged as the search for beauty with divine purpose, Face of Faith pageant has trained and empowered over 50 young ladies since its inception in 2013. Past queens have emerged from various countries. The first edition was won by Ghana. Congo Brazaville took home the crown in the second edition. Who wears the crown this year? Would it be Joana, Thessy, Chisom, Philippine, Esther, Sylvia, Adom, Ekuba, Florissita, Benedicta, Wendy, Seline or Cyvolin?
