Tullow Ghana hands over a 1500-seat capacity Assembly Hall to Half Assini S. H. S

Tullow Ghana Limited, operator of Ghana’s Jubilee and TEN oil fields has commissioned a thousand five hundred seats capacity assembly hall complex for the half Assini Senior High School in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region.

The project which was solely funded by Tallow Ghana limited through its social investment budget and constructed by US construction limited and Arch-Team 4 as consultants, has a ground floor which contains two offices, changing rooms for both males and females, a control room, two store rooms and adjourning washrooms.

The first floor of the assembly hall has four offices and a seating area.

Commissioning the project, headmaster of the Half Assini Senior high school Mr Kwaku Tsikatsa expressed his profound gratitude for the enormous contribution and goodwill which has been established between the school and Tullow Ghana Limited towards the development of both human and natural resources through Tullow’s education, enterprise and capacity building initiatives.

He was also appreciative of the refurbishment of a dilapidated science resource centre and a borehole project which now serve as a source of water to the school.

“We will use this opportunity to express our satisfaction to Tullow Ghana Limited for the refurbishment of the dilapidated resources center which is always opened to both basic and 2 and cycle schools in the fishing and farming communities within and around the Jomoro Municipality as well as the borehole project which is currently serving as an additional source of water for two thousand people.” Mr Tsika said.

He indicated the importance of the assembly hall complex to the school cannot be underestimated. He appealed for support in expanding the school’s dining hall, Staff common room, Girls dormitory and among others.

“We will be happy if Tullow Ghana limited will help the school to furnish the offices for the heads of department and also additional Six Hundred Chairs for the Auditorium”.

Director of exploration and development of Tullow Ghana limited, Nana Appia Kyei on his part indicated that Tullow has supported education since it began operations in 2007 and will continue to assist in that regard.

He further urged the management of the school to maintain the facility so that the assembly hall will serve its purpose. He believes the structure will enhance the educational experience for both staff and students of the school.

“As a company, we are keenly aware of the legacy that a good education delivers for the country’s development and over the decade, Tullow's social investment has supported the education of young Ghanaians not only in the western region but across the country”. Mr Appia Kyei indicated.

Managing director of Tullow Ghana limited Kweku Awortwe also pledged Tullow's commitment to collaborating with other stakeholders in the western region on other education-related projects.

“Tullow Ghana is committed to education in Ghana and especially in the western region of our area of influence. The half Assini Senior High school assembly hall project demonstrates Tullow Ghana’s Commitment to education and investing in the future of Ghana’s youth.

Tullow is also making the additional investment in science, technology, education and technology to support government’s future industrialization agenda”.
