Live band music is reportedly on the ascendancy and getting fine reception once again in Kumasi so a good attendance is expected at Light FM’s highlife bash dubbed Work and Happiness slated for Saturday, April 27 at the Sports Hotel Recreational Centre, near the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Artists scheduled to feature at the show are Obuoba J. A. Adofo, Awurama Badu, Nana Tebbiri and Alex Konadu's Band. Comedian, Bishop Bob Okala will also be there to add a comic dimension to the 7.00pm event.
One of the show’s producers, Mark Hansen told Showbiz one of the objectives of ‘Work and Happiness’ is to create a channel for our experienced highlife musicians to also get the opportunity to perform regularly and earn some money.
“Work and Happiness is also planned to be a monthly affair to celebrate our highlife stars and to create an outlet for the older folks to go out and also have some fun. Most events these days have only the youth in mind but we want to cater for the oldies as well,” Hansen said.
Obuoba Adofo’s music is known across the country and patrons at ‘Work and Happiness’ would look forward to enjoying his popular songs such as Nya Asem Hwe, Nko Nngya M’akyir, Baabi Dehyee, Ankwanobi, Kwae Anoma and Adeasa.
