Sarkodie Asanteni
Sarkodie
There has been a rant on social networks for the reviving of Kumasi-based artistes called "Kumasi Must Rise campaign" of which a lot of artistes have added their voices to.
The rant which was started by some industry players in Kumasi was supported by artistes like Flowking Stone, Cabum, Okyeame Kwame, Kwame Baah and others through singles they released.
Sarkodie, who on a lot of platforms have talked about His roots been from Kumasi but stayed in Tema almost all his life has been quiet about this issue for a while.
After listening to "Asante Ni", a piece from the BET award winner Sarkodie, one can only deduce He (Sarkodie) is adding his voice to the campaign.
With a very Adowa infused with Hip Hop instrumentation from Magnom, Sarkodie tells the typical attitude of one who belongs to the Asante race. The rapper goes on to boast of what the people of Asante have and showering praises at the King Of The Asante Kingdom.
Now the question of people's mind is, Is Sarkodie now claiming His roots or just been a smart artiste to follow the trend?
Enjoy 'Asante Ni' below:
