Ghanaian media personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi has said the reason why most young girls are defiled or get involved in sexual acts with the opposite sex is because they lack sex education.
The popular sex educationist disclosed that the early sex education she received from her parents shaped her morals growing up in the barracks among boys who mostly engaged them [young girls] in popular Ghanaian play called ‘Maame ne Paapa’.
Speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday, Mama Zimbi told Bola Ray parents should not compromised on sex education insisting it should even begin at age eight (8) in homes.
“My parents gave me sex education at an early stage. When I was very young, I was very beautiful and staying at the Barracks certain things happened. At age 15, my dad told me the reason why they started giving me sex education at an early stage was because of the bad influence of most of the boys living in the barracks.
“I did ‘Maame ne Paapa’ alright but I didn’t allow myself to be ‘fingered’ by those bad boys at the barracks because I had good education about sex. It’s about time we open up and call a spade a spade. Sex education should be at age eight (8) and should be done depending on how smart your kids are.”
Asked if she is a sex counselor or marriage therapist, Akumaa Mama Zimbi replied “I saw the need to help women especially married women who are suffering. When it comes to love making, a lot of women are HYPOCRITES. I believe due to my sex education, many of them have opened up now. When you’re married, love making is essential and should be done properly. Love making is a two-way affair and shouldn’t be done in the dark…”
The mother of six also stated that sex plays a very essential part in a successful marriage and urged women not to shy away from such conversations with their husbands.
