Businessman, philanthropist and Chairman of Forte Oil PLC Femi Otedola has fulfilled his promise to assist veteran actor Victor Olaotan with financial support for medical treatment abroad as he has made a donation in that regard.

According to actor Richard Mofe-Damijo who reached out to Femi in December to ask for help, the billionaire has in a text message notified him of a release of “just a little less than $100,000 (USD) for the commencement of the treatment.”

“I just wanted to share this here not to flatter Femi but to reiterate that you are what you do not what you say you will do,” he says. “Thank you my brother @femiotedola for proving that you are a man of your words. God bless you.”

Olaotan was involved in an accident on October 31, 2016 in Lagos, an incident which left him in a medically induced coma for months.

His legs were fractured and he risked being amputated. Although his family had been taking care of him since the unfortunate incident occurred, the need arose to solicit funds for the veteran so he could seek medical care outside the shores of the country.

Consequently, a GoFundMe was set up by friends to help raise the $50,000 needed for the treatment.

Valentine has come and gone for many but for me I am still overwhelmed by the best valentine gift yet, a text from a man who has in a short space of time become friend and brother @femiotedola confirming that he has released just a little less than $100,000 (USD) for the commencement of the treatment of my brother and friend Victor Olaotan. I just wanted to share this here not to flatter Femi but to reiterate that you are what you do not what you say you will do. Thank you my brother @femiotedola for proving that you are a man of your words. God bless you. #victorolaotan #femiotedola #bestvalentinegiftever
