Tagoe Sisters
Identical twin Gospel musicians Lydia Dedei Yawson and Elizabeth Korkoi Tagoe popularly known as “Tagoe sisters” have opened up about their struggles of staying relevant for two decades.
The extremely talented duo are touted as icons in the Ghanaian gospel terrain and their songs are still enjoyed by many.
Tagoe Sisters may be hailed and celebrated today but they have revealed that, the musical journey has not been easy at all.
Speaking to Franky 5 on Hitz FM, One of the sisters revealed they were unstoppable when realized their love for singing.
According to her, though they lived with their adopted father at that time, they frequently sneaked out unnoticed to sing at GBC and other places.
Their desire to sing at crusades and other places actually prevented them from attending regular prayers at “edumfa” and due to this they were branded “witches” by their household.
“Sofo Amoako once visited our house and he was asked to cast evil spirits out of us because we loved wandering a lot” she recalled.
Eventually, the said reverend Amoako who is now late became their spiritual leader who helped them in their musical career.
Some of the Albums of Tagoe Sisters include; Yesu Be Ye Ama Wo, Manya Yesu, Anka Matete and Watua Maka.
