Accra Lions qualified to the Division One League with a 100% winning record after Wednesday's 2-0 win over Photizo Accra Future Professionals at the Tema Sports Stadium.
But the Legon-based side had to dig deep and were only able to unlock Photizo's defence with a pair of second-half goals from captain Abubakari Salifu and super sub Promise Banini.
In the first stanza which was surprisingly barren, chances were created but missed with the deadly trio of Abdul Sameed Adams, Osman Bukari and Benedict Wobenu coming close but no cigars.
After the break, the momentum was still the same but there was no cutting edge.
But the perseverance paid off after 57 minutes when captain Abubakari Salifu a thunderous low shot from 28 yards to beat goalkeeper on his bottom right corner.
From here, the die was cast and Photizo had no chance of coming into the game but we were reduced to ten men on 82 minutes when Ahmed Ramzy Yusif picked up a second yellow card.
Just before the 90th-minute mark, Photizo had a player sent off for yellow card accumulation and the resultant free-kick on the left side of the box, whipped in by Banini, slipped into the hands of the goalkeeper for his second goal in the playoffs.
Accra Lions finished with nine points, scored nine goals and conceded just one.
