Coach CK Akonnor felt his Asante Kotoko side had survived a tough as they edged a tight contest with Kariobangi Sharks in the Caf Confederation Cup on Saturday.
The Porcupine Warriors beat the Kenyans 2-1 in the second leg first round qualifying round clash to advance to the playoffs.
"The intensity was very high. These guys tested us and I must congratulate our back four," he said
"We didn’t do as we wanted to do because of the attack from the opponent but we were able to manage and contain their pressure.
Akonnor believes advancing to the next stage of the competition is most essential despite the hard-fought win.
"The second half, we tried; if possible to get a goal but it wasn’t. We’ve qualified; that’s most important."
Asante Kotoko will know their opponents for the play-off round on 28th December, 2018.
