Former Black Stars forwards, CK Akunnor and Augustine Arhinful have been approached by the management of struggling Ashantigold to take over the vacant coaching job at the club.
Akunnor, before the approach had been with the Division One League club side Dreams FC for three years and would be assisted by Augustine Arhinful on the bench when the duo start work.
The ‘Aboasekese’ team saw their head coach Bashir Hayford resigned last week due to persistent pressure from the fans due to poor run of results after nine matches.
Last two season’s league champions are currently at the bottom of the 2016/17 league table after 11-matches, have recorded just 8-points and the two former national stars are confident to survive the team by the end of the season.
