Veteran musician Amandzeba Nat Brew is thankful to God for saving his life after he escaped unhurt in a car crash in front of the Joy FM building on January 5 this year.

The accident, according to reports, happened after Amandzeba’s Ford Explorer rammed into a parked white Nissan Hardbody pickup which then also hit a Toyota Camry on 355 Faanofa Street in Kokomlemle at about 5:20 pm.

Speaking to GhanaWeb on the sidelines of Charterhouse’s engagement with the media and stakeholders of the industry, the chairman of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) board said fatigue was what caused the incident.

“We need to look at ourselves and consider taking enough rest because for three weeks to one month, I hadn’t slept because my manager had come from abroad; we had to go to studios and other places. I think daily, I hardly have more than three-hour sleep so you can imagine. So I’m sure that must have resulted to that incident,” he said.

According to the veteran, he will henceforth rest to avoid a recurrence.

“We still have life. I don’t take that as a minus at all. It’s just for me to take a little break off my busy season. The new album is coming, Amandzeba celebrating 20 years of ‘Wogbe jeke’, 30 years in the industry as a musician…

“It is not only as a result of this accident because I’ve had a couple of them previously and they all affected my neck so I need to have this brace on for a long time because I’ve been ignoring it. I should have been more careful about my neck. But anyway, I still feel very fit,” Amandzeba mentioned.
