Anas and family safe in Ghana; ignore ‘fake news’ peddlers - Tiger Eye PI

Contrary to news reports that Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has sought refuge from the United States Embassy following his undercover work on rot and corruption in Ghana football under embattled Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed from Tiger Eye PI that Anas and his family are very safe here in Ghana, and do not, at any point in time, or for whatever reason, feel threatened by anything or anyone.

According to Tiger Eye PI, a GFA official, one Sanni Darra is behind the publication of the ‘fake news’ reports using his discredited news websites ostensibly to protect his embattled boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The credibility of the Sanni Daara-owned news portal has come under attack ‘following a consistent record of publication of fake news and we are only responding because our silence must not mean consent as the name of the US Embassy is involved and we won’t wait for the US to respond first’, the Tiger Eye PI official told MyNewsGh.com.

“Undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas is NOT seeking the help of the US embassy in Ghana to evacuate his family to that country. Treat that report with contempt. It is untrue.” The official stated emphatically.

As required by the ethics of the profession, we have made strenuous efforts to reach Mr Daara for his comments but has refused to respond to the calls and messages sent to him.

Kwaku Baako rubbishes $50k bribe allegation

Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako has also trashed allegations by one Dema Naa that he bribed Anas to the tune of $50,000 over an investigative work.

One Mohammed Hafiz Abdullah Dema Naa of Tamale, said on Friday that Anas demanded money to drop the investigations against him back in 2009.



The said Dema Naa alleged that he was made to part with the money “fearing that the investigation would bring him embarrassment so he parted with $50,000 to Anas while his friend also parted with $50,000 to complete Anas’ demands of $100,000.”

But Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, long time Anas mentor and Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper has dismissed all these allegations as baseless falsehood.

Speaking in Joy NewsFile Saturday, He said, “the decision by Justice Charles Quist to dismiss the case of Anas/State Prosecutor against Hafiz in 2009 triggered Anas to investigate the judges and subsequent exposure in 2015.” He said Anas found it strange that the judge acquitted the suspect and was provoked as a result to launch another investigation into it.

“Subsequently Justice Charles Quist was part of the judges captured receiving bribes by Anas exposure on the judiciary in 2015? Mr Baako said.

He added that Hafiz claims of Anas dropping the investigation can’t be true because the matter ended in court.

Mr Kwaku Baako said Kennedy Agyapong has been allegedly doling out money for anyone who has an Anas story to come forward, which could be the reason why anyone can cook a story and collect his share of the ‘information leakage” war chest the NPP MP has.

“Clearly, I believe in trying to get money from Ken, Hafiz deliberately misled Ken and as usual Ken goes to town with cooked information.” Mr Baako guessed.
