Ghana winger Christian Atsu has undergone tests on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury he suffered during the goalless draw with Cameroon on Saturday.
Coach Kwesi Appiah was forced to make an early substitution against the Indomitable Lions after the Newcastle United winger limped off with what looked like a hamstring injury.
The 27-year old lasted only 15 minutes before he was replaced by Samuel Owusu.
The MRI scan will determine if the Newcastle ace would be available for Tuesday’s decisive Group F clash against Guinea-Bissau.
The four-time winners will need to beat the Wild Dogs to progress to the last 16 of the competition.
