Blame Asiedu Nketia for Ayawaso skirmishes – John Boadu

General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu is pointing accusing fingers at the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for contributing to the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.

The NPP chief scribe believes the leadership role played by his counterpart in the opposite side contributed partly to the skirmishes.

According to him, Mr Asiedu Nketiah was not even in the country when violence nearly characterized the by-elections, creating leadership vacuum.

“I blame Asiedu Nketia for NDC’s misfortune at Ayawaso West Wuogon. A whole General Secretary was out of town during the elections, the reason why we witnessed violence from the NDC with Ofosu Ampofo in charge.” He said on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen Friday.

Skirmishes at Ayawaso West Wuogon resulted in six people receiving varied degrees of gunshot wounds after Azorka Boys allegedly tried to prevent the National security operatives from working, an allegation the NDC has denied.

Meanwhile, Mr. Boadu in a reaction to issues raised in a tape believed to be the voice of National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says the latter spoke out of pressure.

According to him, those comments were as a result of pressure from the NDC over non-performance.

He wondered why the embattled chairman [Ofosu Ampofo] has been quiet on the matter.

“The Ofosu Ampofo [we know] is not deaf. Why is he silent over the tape? It is his voice and nothing is doctored. It is authentic voice of Ofosu Ampofo,” he said.
