Kumasi Asante Kotoko interim coach Frimpong Manso has blamed goalkeeping errors and injuries for the 3-1 defeat to Hearts of Oak in the first leg of the Ghana 60 Years On commemorative match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, 1 May.
Hearts opened the scoring through Kwame Kizito but a header from a free kick by Awal Mohammed levelled proceedings. Patrick Razak and Thomas Abbey scored to give the home team a 3-1 victory.
A disappointed Frimpong Manso told the media he was impressed with the team's performance but noted that the result was harsh.
"I am very happy with our performance, just that two goalkeeping errors and injury forced substitutions – Michael Akuffo and Obed Owusu. We played very well and of late our performances have improved. Today's outing was much better, though we lost; the scoreline was deceptive," he stated.
