A 15-year-old student, Emmanuel Avenu has drowned at the ‘Borla’ Beach at Osu.
The sad incident occurred on Thursday afternoon.
Reports say the deceased said to be a student of St. Joseph Technical School, Kwahu Tafo, and resident at Odorkor in Accra, together with his friend had gone to visit their female friend at Osu. After a while, they decided to go and swim in the sea.
Whilst at it, one of the guys realized that the girl and the now-deceased boy were drifting farther into the sea. He raised alarm and rushed to seek support. Luckily, the lady was rescued. But, unfortunately, the other boy could not be found after divers searched for him.
His body was washed ashore Friday morning.
The Osu Police who were informed about the incident went to the beach to convey the body to the Police Hospital morgue.
An investigation has commenced into the incident.
