Cherepony yearns for Tahidu as DCE

Whilst some Districts are up in arms against who should lead them as District Chief Executives (DCEs), majority of the constituency executives of Cherepony District in the Northern Region, chiefs, youth and local players have overwhelmingly endorsed one Tahidu Abdul-Razak for the top position at the Cherepony District Assembly as its DCE.

They have therefore appealed to the party hierarchy to nominate the said candidate as the DCE for the area since he has played diverse developmental roles in the Cherepony constituency over the years which has inured to the general good of the party.

According to a letter signed by the constituency chairman of Cherepony Sulemana Aliwu and endorsed by some eleven other executives of the constituency, appealed to the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to appoint Mr. Tahidu Abdul-Razak as the DCE for the area.

According to them, Mr. Abdul-Razak has contributed immensely both financially and physically towards the general good of the party in the Cherepony constituency over the years.

According to the letter, the twelve constituency executives among other things stated that Mr. Abdul-Razak in 2012 and 2016 general elections purchased some motorbikes for the party for its rounds as well as gave the constituency financial support for its party works when the going was tough.

"Mr Abdul-Razak has been at the forefront for organising funds to support the executives and the party in meeting most of its obligations in the constituency especially prior to and during the 2012 and 2016 elections adding that his love for the party and the love he commands among party members in the area is highly commendable hence the massive endorsement by the executives" the letter stated

In a similar letter, Mr. Abdul-Razak has also received an overwhelming support from some chiefs within the Cherepony constituency where they also appealed to the President to appoint Mr Tahidu Abdul-Razak as the DCE for the area.

According to the chiefs who number up to fourteen noted in their endorsement that Mr Tahidu Abdul-Razak is a die hearted member of the party and has together with his father has on several occasions provided financial support to the party.

"Mr. Abdul-Razak and his father have over the years provided financial support to the party among which some motorbikes, constructed some bore holes and provided other logistics for the party to aid its campaign works. Mr Abdul-Razak has been one individual among the lot who has sacrificed in diverse ways for the party and has the adequate competence and qualification to lead the party as its DCE.

Similarly, in august 2016,the youth wing of the party in a letter signed by the regional youth organiser Alhaji Abdul-Rashid wrote a letter to recognize and appreciate the enormous contributions of Mr Abdul-Razak.

Mr. Tahidu Abdul-Razak is 40 years of age and a senior officer within the Ghana Education Service and the executive director of Junior Saware Company Limited.

He holds a master's degree in Leadership and Development in 2013 from the University of Development Studies. Mr Abdul-Razak had his first degree in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba in 2007.

Mr Abdul-Razak over the years has worked towards the general good of his people where he was a key player in the establishment of the District Education Office.

Mr. Tahidu Abdul-Razak on his part noted that when given the opportunity to serve the people of Cherepony as their District Chief Executive, he will work continuously towards reinvigorating the base of the party, better the lot of the party by assisting in realising the party's vision as enshrined in its manifesto.
