Armed robbers have attacked the Kwabenya Police station in Accra and shot dead a police commander in a dawn invasion, StarrFmonline.com can confirm.
The robbers also set free robbery suspects who were in the custody of the Police.
The attack occurred Saturday dawn at about 1 am, top police sources have confirmed to StarrFMonline.com.
The identity of the slain commander is yet to be known.
The development comes on the back of surging attacks on security personnel by suspected criminals in the country.
Last week, two officers were shot dead by robbers while returning from night duties in the Ashanti region, while a military officer attached to the Flagstaff House was also killed by the roadside at Tema, a fortnight ago.
