Ex-President John Dramani Mahama has admonished members of his party, the National Democratic Congress to give due honor and respect to the founder of the party, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings and refrain from hurling insults at him.

Speaking at the party’s Unity Walk in the Upper West Region; Wa Saturday, the former President maintained that regardless of the fact that diverging views are welcome and entertained, people must draw the limits to such utterances and filter their comments such that differing views are registered without stepping on toes.

“I want to talk about our Founder”, he said during his speech, “You might not like something he says or an action he is taking. You might disagree with his views but do not insult his person,” Mahama…..You can criticize him if you disagree with some of his comments, but please do not insult his person”, he added.

He further urged all party supporters to remain united and focused to attain the vision of recapturing power in the next elections.

Mr. Jerry John Rawlings has come under heavy public backlash over his loud silence or delayed response on national issues since the New Patriotic Party assumed office, contrary to his vociferous attacks on the Mills and Mahama administrations.

Recently at a public event in Ho to commemorate the December 31st revolution anniversary, Mr. Rawlings publicly berated Mr. Mahama for allegedly being late to public events.
