The Jospong Group of Companies, one of the most diversified holdings company in Ghana is urging the general public to disregard publications that sought to muddy the name of the group CEO, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong.

Stories making rounds have it that a Kumasi-based High Court had issued a bench warrant for the arrest of CEO of the Jospong Group of Companies.

According to reports, Dr. Agyepong and others were cited for contempt of court after failing to appear before the court and also not honouring GH¢1,350,000 judgement awarded against them in a case involving the seizure of a vehicle belonging to one Alhaji Abass in 2015.

But a statement issued and signed by the group communication directorate is urging the discerning public to disregard the erroneous impression that the publication sought to portray about its Executive Chairman.

“We believe this is one of the numerous attempts by some people to maliciously tarnish the image of the Executive Chairman and the public should, therefore, reject it with the disdain it deserves,” the statement noted.

“The absence of Dr. Agyepong from court on the date of the hearing was not deliberate, the reason being that Dr. Agyepong had no notice of the proceedings,” it added.
