The Executive Director of Abrabo-Pa Concept, organizers of ‘Woman2Woman Gh’, Akosua Ago Aboagye has called on females who will have the opportunity to serve in the Nana Addo-led administration to “exhibit the characteristics of women of substance and hard work so that the young women in Ghana can emulate from them”.

According to her, newly appointed women in government must inspire the younger generation - "If women misconduct themselves at higher positions it affects the brand called woman, and fuel the negative perception that women are not capable of handling big positions in government. These women represent every woman in Ghana so they have to be conscious of their choices and attitudes” she said in a statement.

She also appealed to them to have an open door policy to discard the notion that female ministers are intimidating and some Ghanaians call them “Kakai bosses or Madams”.

Akosua Ago Aboagye, who is also a broadcast journalist with the Despite Group congratulated all women who have been nominated by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to serve in his administration.

She commended the president for nominating Madam Otiko Afisah Djaba to be the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection – she urged her to work assiduously to serve the interest of women and children in the country.

“The Gender Ministry must work hand in hand with women groups like the Woman2Woman team to accelerate the success and development of women,” she noted.

The statement finally called on her to assemble competent and genuine people who will promote the welfare of women and children in her ministry.
