FIFA are considering ordering a reschedule of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Sierra Leone, according to reports.

CAF had announced the cancellation of the double-header last week following the failure of Sierra Leone to meet FIFA conditions over government interference in the administration of the SLFA.

Many had expected that Ghana would be credited with wins in the abandoned games as Sierra Leone works its way towards getting their suspension lifted.

But, fresh reports suggest that FIFA could order CAF to reschedule the games following a meeting between the Vice President of Sierra Leone and FIFA boss Giani Infantino in Zurich earlier this week.

It is believed that the Sierra Leone Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh had given assurance of ensuring the restoration of the SLFA with the return of President Isha Johansen and General Secretary Chris Kamara.

FIFA will pay a working visit to Sierra Leone to inspect the progress of the agreed roadmap towards the restoration of Sierra Leonean football.

If confirmed, Ghana will then have to host Sierra Leone in the first leg of the botched qualifier and will travel for the return encounter at agreed dates.

This news will come as a major disappointment to many Ghanaian football fans who were expecting the official declaration of the Black Stars as winners of the botched games.

Ghana is currently behind Kenya in the qualifying group by four points with a two-game deficit.
