Ghana Football Association former Executive Committee member has alleged that former deputy sports minister in erstwhile Mahama’s administration Vincent Oppong Asamoah was one of the influential figures who instigated the sacking of former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.

Kwesi Appiah was relieved of his duty months after the 2014 world cup but the outspoken football administrator insisted the aforementioned exit was politically motivated with the former Dormaa West legislator being a key character.

The Brong Ahafo based football administrator did not mince words in revealing that the former administration pressurized the football association to get rid of Kwesi Appiah.

”Did you know that, our own Dormaa West MP contributed to the sacking of Kwesi Appiah? It’s time the truth be told”. He told Sunyani based Space FM.

”The former government told the GFA president to sack Kwesi Appiah so that they [the government]will stop intruding into the affairs of the GFA but even after the exit of the former coach [Kwesi Appiah], the government did not give up on the GFA”, Kofi Manu lamented.

Blue Boy as he is known in the football circles made this comments when he was contributing to a radio discussion on the aftermath of Avram Grant and the way forward of the Black Stars vacant coaching job.
