The National Democratic Congress (NDC) team whose slogan is ‘Solution 2020’ led by Joshua Alabi have declared that ‘goat’ Mahama and ‘dog’ Akufo-Addo do not deserve to lead Ghana.

A close aide of Joshua Alabi, Benjamin Essuman has said Ghana needs neither goat nor dog. According to him, Ghana needs solution2020 which is Alabi.

He wrote: “Ghana doesn’t deserve a dog or a dead goat. We need solutions to our problems. We deserve better. We deserve solutions.”

This follows former President John Mahama assertion that animal idioms used in relation to one’s self in Ghanaian politics will stick as a name.

This follows President Akufo-Addo’s use of “dog” in reference to himself in an idiom.

Former President Mahama was tagged “dead goat” following his own idiom in Botswana in 2015 when he addressed Ghanaians there.

He had said he has become impervious to threats of strikes and demonstrations in Ghana and will not yield to any of such threats in the upcoming election year in 2016.

Adopting what he calls a “dead-goat syndrome”, the then President said he would not be hoodwinked by such strategies by workers.

“I have seen more demonstrations and strikes in my first two years. I don’t think it can get worse. It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn’t fear the knife because it is dead already.

“I have a dead goat syndrome,” he told a Ghanaian population in Botswana where he is on a three-day official state visit.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in defending himself and his family against charges of corruption used the idiom of “giving a dog a bad name and hanging it”.

“I’m aware that you give a dog a bad name in order to hang it but this dog [reference to himself] will not be hanged,” Akufo-Addo said.

And for this name Mahama said it will stick.
