Guinea's President Alpha Condé has announced the easing of some restrictions intended to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In an address to the nation on Monday, the president said places of worship will reopen from 28 June in areas where infections have not been reported.

Students scheduled to sit for exams and those in universities will resume learning on 29 June.

During the first phase of resumption of lessons, social distancing and mask-wearing will be implemented.

Wearing of masks in public is compulsory in the West African country and a nighttime curfew from 23:00 to 04:00 local time is in force.

The country has confirmed 4,572 coronavirus cases including 26 deaths.
