Head Coach of Hearts of Oak Henry Wellington has lamented his side's abysmal display in their 3-1 loss against AshantiGold on Match Day 2 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians were outplayed by a well-organized AshantiGold side and deservedly lost 3-1 at their newly adopted Cape Coast Sports Stadium home on Saturday.

The Accra-based giants were pegged back in 8th minute after James Akaminko put the Miners ahead after a poor defending from Evans Quao.

The Miners extended their lead on the 60th minute mark through Amos Addai after another abysmal defending by Evans Quao.

However, the Phobians were handed a lifeline with 75th minute after striker Joseph Esso superbly outwitted Osei Agymenag before blasting his powerful shot under the bar.

The Miners sealed their deserved win courtesy top marksman Shafiu Mumuni, who headed home a cross from substitute Prince Owusu in the 89th minute.

"It very unfortunate that we had to lose in this manner," Wellington told reporters.

"So many things went wrong for us today because in the first half we weren’t pushing and we allowed them too much space to cause damage and they did it well."

"We came back after conceding the first two goals but there again we shipped in another awful goal. The goals we conceded were avoidable; I'm really disappointed with the outcome."
