The Cape Coast High Court presided by Her Ladyship Justice Mills Tetteh has deferred its ruling on the case concerning the legitimacy of the Vice Chancellor for UEW Rev Prof. Father Anthony Afful-Broni brought against him by MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin and five dismissed staff of the University led by former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mawutor Avoke.

The applicants are appealing to the court to render the tenure of Prof. Afful-Broni illegitimate and thereby reinstate Prof. Mawutor Avoke as the legitimate Vice-Chancellor of UEW.

The court which was set to deliver it’s ruling on the matter stood down its judgment as lawyer for the dismissed staff Lawyer Raymond Atuguba pleaded with the court to file additional information purported to be from EOCO which he said will hold significant in determining the outcome of the case.

The said document is said to be a report by EOCO clearing the five dismissed senior staff of allegations leveled against them which lead to their eventual dismissal.

The trial judge who allowed lawyer Raymond Atuguba to file the additional documentation urged him to serve the other parties in the suit in the spirit of fairness.

The case has since been postponed to the 25th of October for ruling.
