Ibrahim Mahama does not owe us - Ghana Airport Company Ltd

The Ghana Airports Company Limited has dismissed reports suggesting that CEO of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama owes the company some GHC8 million in aviation fuel costs and taxes.

A statement dated May 5, 2017, and signed by a Deputy Managing Director of the company, Dr. J. Okwesie Arthur indicated that Engineers and Planners did not owe the company “is not indebted to Ghana Airports Company Limited as at 5th May, 2017”.

Reports were rife in the media over the weekend that the company owned by former President Mahama's brother was indebted to the Ghana Airport Company Limited to a tune of GHC8 million. But a document from managers of the Airport company indicates Mr Ibrahim Mahama does not owe the company.

RE: REQUEST FOR STATUS - ENGINEERS AND PLANNERS COMPANY LIMITED

Reference to your letter dated 3rd May, 2017 on the above subject, we wish to state that Engineers and Planners Company Limited is not indebted to Ghana Airports Company Limited as at 5th May 2017.

Ibrahim Mahama has been in the news in recent time over his failure to pay the social security of workers of his Engineers & Planners company. But the Ghana Revenue Authority at a court hearing dismissed the allegation saying Mr Mahama had fulfilled his tax obligations prior to the start of the legal process.
