The Chief Of Staff, Julius Debrah has repeated calls for the Muslim community to vote for one of their from Northern Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama.

He said it would be very difficult for another candidate from the North to get the opportunity to govern the country, if President Mahama loses the bid in the December 7 elections.

Speaking in an interaction with the zongo community in Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Debrah said: “Sometimes when you say this people think you are indulging in tribal politics. This isn’t tribal politics. Ghana is mainly made up of two zones. The North and the South. Former President Rawlings and Kufuor are from the South and this is the time for someone from the north-President Mahama.

He added: “All I am saying is should this opportunity slip through his hands, it will be extremely difficult for a Northerner to get to the Presidency again. So in order for us to compare the performance of all the Presidents Ghana has had, lets give John Mahama a chance in the December 7 polls.”

Meanwhile, the Chief of Adoagyiri and Ankobeahene of Akyim Kotoku Traditional area Nana Okoanadwo Afutu Dompreh IV has appealed to politicians and the electorate to make peace their major concern as the December 7th election inches closer.
