Some members of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) private security arm, Invincible Forces, on Monday, October 30 locked up the offices of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The NADMO coordinator, Gibril Kesse, indicated the irate members of the group stormed the office and ordered the staff who had reported for duty to leave the office and go home.
“My staff were in the office this morning when these guys came in and told them to leave, and that they have come to take over. So my people left and they locked the place up and took the keys away,” he said.
This development comes in the wake of concerns being expressed regarding the activities of vigilante groups in the country.
There have been about 20 pro-NPP vigilante attacks since the NPP won power in the December 2016 elections.
The situation has been festering despite calls on the President for the law enforcement agencies to act.
