Sorry for being harsh on Ms Charlotte Osei, the Chair of Ghana's Electoral Commission. Why should I suffer fools and, or blatantly malevolent persons who only care about themselves kindly? This woman is of the same character as, if not worse than, Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, her predecessor. The disgusting views I have come to form about this woman are dictated by, or emanate from, her statements and intentions as published on Ghanaweb. In a publication on Ghanaweb under its General News of Sunday, 1 November 2015 titled, "New voters register is recipe for chaos – EC", "the EC has received an avalanche of complaints from the NPP, which would be addressed in due cause. The EC desires to have a credible voters register and would work with the political parties and civil society organisations to get one. A fundamental question however remains; do Ghanaians want a credible register? If the people and the stakeholders do not want a credible register, we won't have one".
In another publication on same news portal, published under their General News of Friday, 30 October 2015 titled "NPP has written three 'love letters' to me – EC boss", I can conclude without mincing words that Ms Charlotte Osei is a complete misfit in her present role as the Head of Ghanaian's Electoral Commission. In this second publication it is stated, "Charlotte Osei has revealed that the NPP wasted no time in sending three proposals and requests to her demanding a new voter's register immediately she assumed office. Describing the proposals as 'love letters' Charlotte Osei teased that she is hardly given enough time to respond to the letters".
Acknowledging that the voters register is not credible, why should it not be changed whether or not some stakeholders oppose any such decision? Who are the people and stakeholders who will not want Ghana to have a credible voter register? Are they the few rich people, few organizations and principally the entire NDC party who stand to lose only God knows what should there be a credible voters register in place for election 2016?
Who are those stakeholders and people, please tell me Charlotte? Is your outfit not supposed to be independent of political interferences? If you see that something is wrong and has the potential to cause chaos in the nation in future, why should you not change it? Is it not said, "better late than never?" Is it not better to change it than to look on like a fool for the situation to escalate or deteriorate into some sort of mayhem? Additionally, does an Akan proverb not hold sense when it says, "the stump that has the potential to impale you is not sharpened but uprooted when you come across it?"
Someone who is proud of not having the decency to acknowledge official letters to her but rather makes a mockery of such correspondences is deemed in the global professional market as unfit to hold any public office. Does she know the repercussions of her silly behaviour as portrayed in both cited publications?
I am a stakeholder and a person; I want a credible voters register in place for election 2016. I can't stand those who have made it their habit either because of their wealth or status to carry on exhibiting that selfish typical Ghanaian-mindedness bordering on looking down on others they underestimate for being poor or less educated than themselves.
I sure hope Charlotte will not give me the cause to take her to the cleaners which I will not hesitate at all to do. I detest this type of Ghanaian attitude that makes all black persons look inferior and stupid in the eyes of our contemporary Whites. We always watch as though we have no grey matter in our skulls for a minute problem that could have been nipped in the bud to grow huge and ramify. When it does, we run to the Whites for solutions. What a bunch of people who cannot solve small problems.
Are you happy about how the country is sinking under the weight of President Mahama's incompetence, cluelessness and corruption, Charlotte?
If she dare teases me as she has been doing to NPP, as ignorant and "educated illiterate" as she appears, she must be prepared for the media revelations of her hollow-mindedness.
