Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah says there is more to the mysterious death at the Kumasi Academy than meets the eye.

The controversial man of God noted that evil attacks should not be ignored as that could be the cause of the death in the school.

“We can’t only attribute this to some infectious diseases. We have to deal with it spiritually as well. We should not ignore spiritual intervention to this issue,” he said.

Addressing the media Thursday, the Health Minister said 19 tests conducted by the Nogouchi Memorial Institute confirmed Influenza H1N1 2009 as the cause of the deaths and not meningitis as earlier suspected.

Influenza H1N1 209 also known as swine flu was last recorded in Ghana in 2009. The Minister also stated that seven students who died at KUMACA in April this year died from meningitis.

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah was emphatic that, even though he does "not want to doubt doctors’ report on the situation, it could also be the handiwork of evil spirits which take delight in the suffering of God's Children".

According to him, prayer is the only solution to the current situation at KUMACA since the devil despises prayers. He however called on the general public to pray for God's intervention in the crisis.

“I learnt some years back, teachers were those dying in the school and now its students. This is spiritual and we must break that from future happenings,” He said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
