Keep us away from your ‘political ploy’ – Agyarko family to Mahama
The family of the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremateng Agyarko, has asked former President John Dramani Mahama to keep the Agyako’s family away from his ‘political ploy’.
The former President John Dramani Mahama last Wednesday met with members of the diplomatic corps at Peduase. At the meeting, he discussed the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
The former president shown videos of the incident to the diplomatic community claiming that the security operatives in the said videos were also at the late MP’s funeral.
But in a statement issued in Accra Saturday, February 16, the family denied any such occurrence, stating that, the family had been reliably informed that, the video displayed by the former president, was at L/Cpl. Daniel Adu Tieku’s funeral held in August 2018.
“The family wishes to state that we are still mourning our late brother and request that John Mahama keeps the family away from his political ploy. If indeed, John Mahama wants to be regarded as a decent fellow, then the family expects him to render a retraction of this palpable falsehood and render an unqualified apology for his unfortunate and despicable action.”
The late Kyeremanteng Agyarko was laid to rest last Saturday at Odumase Krobo in his hometown.
He was serving as Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon before his demise.
His spouse, Lydia Seyram Alhassan won the by-election.
