Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has been advising his Black Stars team-mates to tread with caution in the World Cup play-off return leg in Cairo since anything can happen in football.
The Schalke 04 midfield enforcer said the four-time African champions should go all out against the Egyptians and must play as if they rather have a deficit to overturn, despite the 6-1 thumping of Egypt in the first-leg.
“No, because that's why in football, there's always the second leg,” Boateng told the Ghana FA website on the issue of complacency. “Two games, they can change so many things so that's why we should just put out of our heads we won 6-1 or that we even won the first game and just be prepared to fight and win this game and at the end of the day, we will know the result.”
The German-born Ghanaian, who is likely to start from the bench against the Pharaohs at the Air Defence Stadium, said he is committed to the game.
“I would put in everything I will do in every game I play because this is the game I love and I love to play for Ghana, for the Black Stars and if the coach puts me on the field, I would give everything like always,” he added.
On a possible World Cup qualification, the Ghana international noted: “For me personally, of course to play in two World Cups, there are not a lot of people who can say after their careers that they played two World Cups. And especially, a team like Ghana if we qualify for the World Cup, we can be a big surprise because I think we are stronger than 2010.”
