A Tax Policy Advisor Mr. Kofi Nti has been named the new Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
Nti, a former staff of the Ministry of Finance during the administration of ex-President J.A Kufuor, will replace George Blankson. He is a close associate of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and believed to be one of the effective backroom staff of the Economist, helping with research when the New Patriotic Party was in opposition.

The GRA has overall oversight of all the taxation agency in the country. The Authority was established in 2009 as a merger of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), Value Added Tax Service (VATS), and the Revenue Agencies Governing Board (RAGB) Secretariat.
GRA has been established to among others Integrate Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Value Added Tax Service (VATS) into domestic tax operations on functional lines as well as integrate the management of Domestic Tax and Customs.
