Politicians across the divide as well as opinion leaders are warned against interfering in the justice delivery of four boys currently standing trial at Asokwa Circuit Court for allegedly gang-raping a young lady.

Bantamahene in Kumasi, Baffuor Owusu Amankwatia VI, issued a stern warning calling for severe punishment for arrested teenagers to serve as a deterrent to others who may intend to perpetrate such crime in the near future.

“It is very sad for such a thing to happen and more for it to be taking place in my traditional area”, Baffuor Owusu VI spoke on a local radio station Nhyira FM.

“There will be no attempt to intervene or intercede on behalf of the suspects”, he assured urging politicians and other traditional rulers to follow suit.

“Seriously when I heard about it, I really did not believe it but then I did some investigations and I found out that the story was true,” the traditional ruler revealed.

“It is bad for Ghana let everybody know that what the children did is bad. …it is bad for the moral fabrics of our society”, Bantamahene pointed out.

There have been widespread public condemnation following a widely-circulated video in which seven boys were seen sexually abusing a young girl.

At least four of them have since been picked up and arraigned before the Asokwa District Court while police is pursuing the remaining three who are still on the run.
