Good evening Ghana today features Founder of defunct Capital Bank William Ato Essien as he speaks extensively for the first time after the collapse of his bank in 2017.
He is also expected to talk about narratives surrounding the status of the bank after the change of its administration.
Mr Ato Essien is said to have engaged in acts of “willful deceit” which contributed to the collapse of his bank and one of the closed banks, Sovereign Banks.
But in a 4-minutes trailer of Good Evening Ghana, he denied any such accusations saying there is no point robbing a bank he founded.
“looking at migrating it from an unregulated institution to a regulated space and now to a universal bank, what was the point?” ..he stated.
Among other revelations, he narrated to Paul Adom Otchere how Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta and board chairman of the Enterprise Group Keli Gadzekpo proposed to buy his bank in 2016.
