Kwame Adom Appiah, one of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate aspirants in the Effiduase Asokore constituency who was brutalised for allegedly trying to whisk away the electoral album has boycotted the exercise.
According to Michael Afrani, UTV’s correspondent, Kwame Adom Appiah, and delegates who claim to be supporters of the legal brain have decided not to continue with the exercise after the incident.
“His people say they won’t vote again. They’ve left the venue and have vowed never to accept the results. They say they will head to court,” the journalist stated in his report.
Afrani further stated that he was told Mr. Appiah was beaten by some military men. He reported that he was told, “the aspirant went to the polling station, took the electoral album and said it was not the one to be used for the elections.”
There are reports that Appiah was accompanied by some ‘macho men’, perhaps, the reason he was said to have attempted to steal the register.
Appiah, according to the report filed by Afrani, is receiving treatment at the Effiduase Hospital.
