President Nana Akufo-Addo has told his audience, which comprised of chiefs and their subjects at Breman Essiam in the Central Region, that former President Mahama’s administration completely emptied the national coffers before exiting power in January 2017. This fact, he argued, can never be denied by President Mahama.

President Akufo-Addo, who is currently touring the Central Region, therefore, pleaded with Ghanaians to bear with his government as he tries to implement policies that would bring great relief to every Ghanaian.

Touching on the Free Senior High School policy, President Akufo-Addo mentioned that the policy was not implemented because of votes in the next election. He mentioned that it was purposely meant to make education accessible for the rapid development of the nation.

The Omanhen of the Breman Essiam Traditional Area, Odeefo Afankwa III, pleaded that the Ajumako Campus of the University of Education Winneba be given autonomous status.

He appealed to the President to kindly assist the school with more infrastructure and others that would enable the campus gain autonomous status.

He proposed that the campus should be called University of Languages and Culture to sustain the dwindling nature of Ghanaian culture.

He also proposed that languages such as Chinese, German, and Spanish among others could be taught at the university. Odeefo Afankwa praised the President for his numerous social intervention programmes and policies.

He noted that the Planting for Food and Jobs programme by the President could help the country become self-sufficient.

Odeefo Afankwa appealed to the President to establish a College of Agriculture in the area, because they were predominantly farmers.

This College of Agriculture, he noted, would provide the requisite knowledge for the youth in the area who would desire to go into farming, and others that are related to agriculture and planting for food.
