The Millennium Development Authority is likely to be slapped with contempt of court charge if it proceeds with today's bidder’s conference for the privatization of the Electricity Company of Ghana.
MiDA is one of the defendants in a lawsuit filed by a member of the communications team of the New Patriotic Party Saaka Salia.
MiDA is expected to hold the conference as part of preparations to privatize the state power distributor.
But Salia told Starr News MIDA cannot hold the bidder’s conference today whiles the court is yet to give a hearing on the pending issue. He has warned MIDA to rescind its decision or face contempt of court.
“The court is yet to adjudicate on the case and MiDa is going ahead with stakeholder consultation which is clearly contempt of court”.
