Motivational book 'The Future In Your Past’ launched

Have you ever thought about the possibility of having your future hiding in your past? Well author Francis Kwabena Atta has come out with his latest work to motivate readers to have a good part of their past work for their future.

Titled ‘The Future In Your Past’ with subtitle ‘Making Your Past Work For Your Future’, the 128-page book dwells mostly on Bible characters like David and Paul to goad readers into fulfilling their dreams.

Some popular figures like Nelson Mandela were also cited.

Each of the eight chapters begins with a motivational maxim as its prelude.

“The book brings us into reality with our past. Whether or not the past is inimical to our future is dependent on our worldview which is a prerequisite for our success in life,"legal practitioner Joseph Bae Owusu said after reading the book.

Speaking at the launch at the Hall Complex of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madina, Accra, Mr Atta said he was inspired by his all-time favourite scripture about David – as recorded in 1 Samuel 17:34-37 – to write the book.

“It is only in the context of our past experiences that we can truly show gratitude to God and man. It is in this context that the ‘The Future In Your Past’ is written as the foundation to another book."

Any country, any corporate institution develops with quality human resource as its foundation. And hopeless people cannot constitute quality human resource.

The most hopeful person is the one who is able to connect his past to his future. The one who is able to shake off the current circumstances and face the future squarely, because he is fueled by the motivation of his past experiences. This is the truly healthy person.

The foreword was written by the Parish Priest of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church Very Reverend Father Charles Owusu-Ansah (SMA).

“The decision to read this book is the beginning of freedom from the past. You start to muster hope for the future with your past experiences,” he stated.

At the launch over the weekend were diplomats, officers of the Ghana Armed Forces, insurance executives, media and legal practitioners as well as staff and students of University of Ghana.
