In the on-going economic mess and financial hardships Ghanaians find themselves under President Mahama, they are turning in droves to Nana Akufo Addo. In the eyes of many a discerning Ghanaian, Nana Akufo Addo is Ghana’s socio-economic Saviour in waiting. He is possibly the person able to remove the shackles of modern day Black-on-Black slavery from the necks of Ghanaians.

Rockson: But are his adversaries both within and without NPP not using his age to discredit him as though age is an effective killer weapon to wield against your opponent?

Nana Darkwah: I am even amazed at some Ghanaians’ understanding of politics. There is nowhere in our internal NPP, or national, Constitution, that a maximum age limit is set for barring people from participating in active politics or from holding political offices. However, a minimum age of attainment is set before one can aspire for the presidency.

Rockson: Do you mean to tell me that those desirously hounding Nana out of any future NPP flagbearership and national presidency contests using his age are simply being mischievous?

Nana Darkwah: They are worse than that. They are malevolent, liars, insatiably greedy and have no sense of direction and no morals. They have no agenda for Ghana but simply want their voices to be heard for no intelligent but stupid reasons.

Rockson: Yes I do agree with you. If they had any policies to set Ghanaians free from the sticky economic mud in which they are currently inextricably mired, they would come up with it. However, as they haven’t, they always use age and others like, he is arrogant to try to smear Nana in attempts to rid him off the Ghana political arena.

Nana Darkwah: Rocky, I will in any day prefer Nana for his incorruptibility, dynamism, dedication to be of service to his people and nation and his advanced age which in him has been established to be an indication of wisdom to these young guys some Ghanaians want to be seen at the helm of affairs.

Rockson: I wonder how some Ghanaians, although doing so with evil intentions, cannot see how incompetent and sorry to say, mere thieves most of the youth they want to see shape Ghana politics are. Inferring from the despicable actions of those in government under the late President Mills/Mahama and Mahama/Arthur-Amissah NDC-led governments, one had simply to write off those using age against Nana Akufo Addo.

Nana Darkwah: Do Ghanaians want those that can better manage the economy of Ghana for the collective benefit of all or just those that will channel Ghana’s money into the pockets of their cronies, agents and assigns and then task them to lie non-stop on airwaves about the state of the economy? When the economy is clearly seen to be nose-diving, they tell you it is skyrocketing?

Rockson: Those pulling Nana down using his age are simply the evil ones Ghanaians must look out for to avoid. Age is simply a number. I personally would not want to see the supposedly young ones of Mahama’s type being at the helms of political affairs very inexperienced, not only mismanaging the economy but also, wreaking thievery and havoc on the nation in broad daylight. What is going on in the country is all too clear for even the physically and mentally blind to see.
