Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has called on the police to drop all charges against the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1.
He said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that the CEO of the troubled gold firm must be set free to cough out about GH¢200m to settle his customers.
NAM1 was whisked by the police CID on his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport and spent Thursday night in cells after he was declared wanted in January this year.
On Friday, an Accra Circuit Court has remanded him into police custody to reappear before the court on July 26, 2019.
This according to Maurice Ampaw is “unnecessary.”
