The 3 schools who qualified
The Eastern Regional Zone of Ghana's first-ever grand and super exciting quiz competitions for Junior High Schools which holds annually on both regional and national platforms took place at the auditorium of Liberty Vocational Institute, Koforidua.
Out the seven qualified schools, Brentford Academy emerged the Ultimate Winners, taking a home a cash prize of GH¢ 500.00 and souvenirs from sponsors, with Bethel Preparatory and JHS (BEPJUHIS) and Star ff Suhum Schools (SOS) taking the 2nd and 3rd place respectively at the Regional Competition of the NCSQuiz for Junior High Schools to represent the Eastern region at the 4th edition of the annual inter-schools competition which will be held in Accra, April 2020.
The NCSQuiz for JHS is an academic platform for JHS students where their intellectual ability, as well as their swiftness in recollection of information imbibed over time, is tested upon in relation to the four (4) core subjects namely; English Language, Social Studies, Integrated Science and Mathematics, which are very important determinants for postings to Senior High Schools.
University Of Cape Coast JHS won the national championship of the NSCQuiz, beating Greenfield Schools in the last (3rd) edition. The champions scored 63 to 53 points for the winners to lift the golden trophy along with a GHC 2,000 cedis cheque and souvenirs from sponsors.
The seven (7) qualified schools to represent Eastern Region are BRENTFORD ACADEMY, BETHEL PREP. & JHS, Star Of Suhum Schools, Souls Harbour School, Akuapem Hill Prep. School, Holy Child School and Carol Gray School.
Registration of schools is still on for the regional competitions of other regions.
