The National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has urged aspirants in the upcoming parliamentary primaries to help whip up interests at the base towards the EC’s registration exercise.
In a statement released on behalf of the party hierarchy ahead of the internal race said aspirants and their supporters ought to simultaneously use the competitive processes to also galvanize energies for the general election campaigning and endeavour to stay united.
The NPP’s much-anticipated 2020 Parliamentary Primaries is scheduled to come of June, 20 after having experienced delays and limitations due to COVID 19.
Meanwhile, the national party chairman has asked disgruntled aspirants who were deliberately sidelined by the National Executive Committee(NEC) in the race to bear with them in that decision insisting it was considerred in the interest of the party.
“…the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) ultimately has the last say in determining who gets the ultimate approval to run on the Party’s ticket. Besides, the Party has a responsibility to ensure that it puts its best foot forward at all times as may be determined by the circumstances that inform the approval or non-approval of an aspiring candidate. This determination is always done in the supreme interest of the Party.”
