The management of Charger Limited, producers of Happy Man Bitters has denied reports in sections of the media that ex-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, is an ambassador for the brand.

Reports in sections of the media indicated that the ex-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) now works as an advertiser for the alcoholic beverage.

The former first Vice President of CAF in a short video circulating on social media is seen endorsing Happy Man Bitters, one of Ghana's leading alcoholic beverages. And this, the report said is a form of a commercial.

Management has explained that this short video was recorded in early April (4th April, 2018) when the administrators of Wa All Stars Football Club met with management members of Happy Man Bitters requesting for sponsorship for Wa All Stars Football club.

The then GFA President passed through the meeting and shot the video.

“Besides, Charger Limited never used this video for commercial purposes. Never has Lawyer Nyatakyi been an ambassador for the brand, Happy Man Bitters…,” a statement from the Legal team of Charger Limited said.

In that, the activities of Charger Limited are guided by the Food and Drugs Authority’s (FDA) regulations which frown on the use of celebrity for an alcoholic beverage commercial.

“And as law abiding citizens, we wouldn’t violate the laws of our regulators hence, our refusal to commercialise the said video. We, therefore, entreat all to disregard the reports,” Marketing Manager, Samuel Amankwaa said
