The Jaman North District in the Bono Region has reported one suspected case of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The suspected patient is said to be a Ghanaian and resident of Sampa.
The Jaman North Director of Health Service Emmanuel Tevie in an interview with Kasapa FM stated that samples have been taken from the suspected patient and is been sent to the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research for testing.
He disclosed that the suspect is currently in a very stable condition and is his condition is being monitored.
Reports say the development has thrown the residents of Sampa which is a border town[Ghana and Cote d’ivoire border] into a state of fear and panic.
The Bono Region is yet to record a case of COVID-19.
Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have now reached 1,042 with nine deaths while 99 people have recovered and discharged.
