Doris Mawutor Kashiku, the woman who allegedly bathed the Police Commander for Assin Praso in the Assin North Municipality of the Central Region, Superintendent Isaac Tetteh has broken her silence.
She is accusing the police chief of sexual harassment for which reason she emptied the hot pot of palmnut soup on him in self-defense.
“The police were acting violently so I decided to video whatever was happening when the Commander suddenly held my hand in an attempt to take the phone; I resisted and hid the phone in my panty but he wouldn’t stop and pulled the phone out from my panty,” she narrated on Accra-based Adom Fm.
The suspect who has been charged with assaulting a public officer and resisting arrest has since been granted bail.
The suspect in her mid-40s, bathed the police chief and his assignees with a pot of hot soup in an attempt to arrest some irate youth of the area for attacking a rival group.
Mawutor Gashiku according to the police, who was hiding the suspects believed to be her relations in her room, emptied the hot contents of the pot on the police chief and his assignees who tried arresting the suspects a fortnight ago.
It is gathered that she fled the community after the incident but was arrested at the Assin Fosu Lorry Park in an attempt to flee the area and subsequently arraigned before court on two charges.
