Police on the hunt for more suspects in teenage gang rape

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has indicated that the number of suspects in the alleged gang rape of a minor was undertaken by seven boys and not four as seen in the Videos.

Three of the four teenage boys suspected to be the ones caught on tape sexually assaulting the minor have been picked up by the Ashanti region police command.

The police command has also confirmed that the act was perpetrated at Bantama a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The videos of the youngsters in the dastardly act have gone viral drawing disdain from all quarters.

Addressing the media, the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP Juliana Obeng disclosed that two of the boys are first-year Senior High School students while the other is a form three Junior High School student.

She indicated that the “victim has been issued with a medical form. She is currently in the care of the police undergoing psychological counselling and she is corporating with the police with investigations.”

ASP Juliana Obeng also sent a strong word of caution to “those in possession of the videos and those circulating same to desist from that since culprits will be dealt with appropriately.”
