Polio outbreak has been recorded up-north in Chereponi.
This comes after the country marked 10 years of Ghana’s polio-free status in April.
A statement issued by the Ghana Health Service(GHS) has indicated a sample of the highly infectious disease was taken from a girl aged two years and eight months with acute flaccid paralysis(AFP).
The Ghana Health Service statement also announced the deployment of teams from Accra to assist the regional and district teams to carry out massive investigation.
It’s also expected that the team will map out the areas at risk and undertake a reactive vaccination campaign in the affected and adjoining high-risk districts.
